Place in the Organisation
The incumbent of the post is responsible
to Head Health Centre (B) or Deputy Head Health Centre (A) or the
Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist (as applicable) and receives
technical supervision from the Field Laboratory Services Officer.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the incumbent:

Performs the full range of laboratory
services including biochemistry, hematology, serology, routine (urine
and stool examination) and bacteriology:
·
Ensures accuracy and completeness of laboratory information in the computerised health information system (e-Health);
·
Maintains laboratory equipment, supplies and reagents;
·
Updates the programming of the automated laboratory equipment and follows up the preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment;
·
At Health Centres without Senior Medical Laboratory Technologist:
i. prepares estimates of requirements for replenishment of consumable supplies
ii. prepares the monthly and annual laboratory statistical report;
iii. Reviews and analyzes quality control results (internal and external) and makes the necessary intervention
Performs such other duties and assignments as may be required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
· A University Degree from a recognized university in Medical Laboratory Sciences:
· Possession of a license to practice medical laboratory services (where applicable).
· At least three years of experience in a providing laboratory services;
· Experience in the use of computers and an understanding of their use in health applications.
· Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic.

· Good Analytical and problem-solving skills;
· Good organizational skills and ability to work under pressure and cope with heavy workload;
· Adequate computer skills;
· Self-motivated and shows willingness to learn from others.

EQUIVALENCY:
When the minimum requirements are not
fully met, Field Director for Field Area staff and Director of Human
Resources for Headquarters Area staff, in consultation with the
concerned supervisor may exceptionally substitute part of the unmet
requirements with a combination of relevant academic qualifications,
additional professional training and progressive relevant work
experience.
NB: Work experience alone or formal
qualifications with no relevant work experience are not considered an
acceptable combination.

The incumbent of the post is responsible to the Senior Staff Nurse in the Health Centre he/she is assigned to.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
In accordance with Agency policy and procedure, the incumbent as a member of the Family Health Team (FHT) where assigned:
· Performs nursing activities required
for child care, pre-conception care, antenatal care, post-natal care,
diabetic and hypertensive cases including screening and health education
activities;
· Carries out nursing tasks related to
school health activities including vaccination, height and weight
measurement, vision and hearing screening where applicable;
· Conducts home-visits for growth retarded, anemic, defaulting bedridden/disabled patients;
· Keeps adequate recording of received and used supplies needed for the nursing activities in her/his assigned working station;
· Maintains a high standard of infection control to ensure safety of staff and clients;
· Complies with all relevant safety, quality, health and environmental procedures to ensure a healthy and safe work environment;
· Provides services through the electronic medical records system (E-Health), including data entry and proper recording;
· Performs such other duties as may be required.
Minimum Qualifications
· Full secondary education;
· Completion of a two-year diploma in nursing from a recognized institution.
· Possession of a license to practice nursing services (where applicable).
· At least two years’ experience in a similar role;

open for local staff residing in the duty station of the post;
